ABOUT US

Farah Issa, Barrister & Solicitor (Owner)
Having arrived in Canada as a refugee himself at a young age, Farah has first hand experience of what it's like to navigate through the complex immigration and refugee system, and he takes great pride in helping clients to the best of his abilities. As a result Farah has a high success rate in the approval of immigration and refugee applications and hearings. Farah has also worked at the Citizenship branch of the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, where he interviewed applicants and assessed their eligibility for Canadian Citizenship. Farah has successfully represented hundreds of clients at the Immigration and Refugee Board (with nearly 100% success rate in refugee claims), the Immigration Appeal Division, and has worked on Judicial Review Applications to the Federal Court of Canada (80% of Federal Court cases settled prior to a hearing).

Farah graduated with a JD from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. His passion for social justice and helping individuals and youth overcome barriers has led him to pursue causes that he strongly believes in. In 2012, he co-founded a recognized high school that provides personalized education to members from marginalized communities. The school has assisted thousands of students achieve their educational goals and continues to operate to this day. Farah has also developed a practice in Youth Criminal justice, where he represents youth from marginalized communities navigate through the complex criminal justice system while advocating for their rights. Farah is fluent in English, Somali and French.

Nicole Arghandewal (Stokes), Manager of Windsor Branch
Nicole
 is a fresh graduate from the University of London (UK) Law School where she completed her Bachelors Degree in Law and she is the Office Manager of our Windsor Branch.

Nicole arrived to Canada as a refugee claimant over 15 years ago. She is a Hungarian-British citizen. She experienced all the difficult steps of the refugee process, including immigration detention. Due to the complexity of her case she had to face many challenges, battles, struggles before she would become a Permanent Resident. Nicole knows the terrifying feeling of pending removal and the separation from loved ones from her very own experience. Nicole came from England, where she resettled after leaving Hungary. She worked with Afghan and Turkish asylum seekers in both countries and assisted Hungarian Roma experiencing discrimination in housing, social services, employment and education.

Nicole is fluent in both English and Hungarian and speaks Turkish too. In Canada she completed her Immigration Consultant Diploma, Paralegal Diploma and Police and Law Enforcement Diploma. She is a dedicated, passionate Roma rights activist in Canada since 2009, assisting Roma refugees and organizations in misrepresentation cases, leading to loss of status and removal proceedings in Canada. Nicole also volunteered and managed the Legal Refugee Clinic at ACOW (African Community Organization of Windsor) helping African refugees, failed refugees to remain in Canada. While volunteering at ACOW assisted drafting the Petition for the PSW Pathway Program in 2020.
